ACTING CLASSES
My favourite acting schools I recommend :)
Howard Fine Acting Studio's Teachers are the best in the world, it doesn't matter which teacher you train with they are all so skilled, kind and caring, the acting notes for improvement are so specific. They are the happiest and passionate school I've ever been to. There is this collective love of great playwrights, great work, and the excitement for each actors improvement, it's a completely non-competitive environment and they acknowledge that we're all at different stages of the craft and our career and you feel completely comfortable to be yourself.
If you have the budget and time for it, I recommend the Full Time course with my whole heart. The Part Time and 10 Week would also be remarkable and have recommended a few actors that have loved these courses too!

My best attempt to describe what they teach is; how to not act, to be a human, alive in the moment your in.
An example of what they teach is, as you're reading this, you already know what the time is roughly, the place around you, what you're doing before this and what you'll do later, your opinions on people; places, most things. They teach how we all see the world differently based on how we were raised and our experiences that changed us - that"we are a sum of our experiences."
They teach you the homework, research and the questions to ask then to be alive in the moment and not have to think!
With the 8 steps they teach to find your habits as your character, what you want and why, maybe your accent is different but you bring as much of yourself to the role that fits the character and then you're there! As you, but with a character's name and maybe a few different habits and traits.

The only advice I'd give before starting that a long time to figure out after graduating! Is that after all the homework and the 8 steps - The goal is, to not think, and not be in our heads during the scene. :)
“Technique, when used correctly, is a gateway to spontaneous life” - Howard Fine
Scott Major's 6 week is SO good, he's incredibly passionate. I learnt about making the entire scene completely real to you so "the scene runs itself" with every word, sentence you say, to know why you're saying it, what you want and to go after what you want, get it from the other person, and how you feel about everything you and the other person says, and to have an incredibly strong connection to the relationship based on the history you've lived together. He's such a lovely guy and the goal in his class is to have fun!
Justin Lehmann is a prodigy of Bill Esper. Sanford Meisner's student, Justin cares so much about the growth of his students and will check in to see why something had improved or hasn't. He is so funny and kind, after doing the 5 week he gave everyone a one on one meeting to ask any questions. His classes have helped me with letting go, being present in the moment and truthful to how I feel in the moment. Highly recommend!
Peter Kalos, the teacher at The Lab is one of the most generous people I've ever met. He will give up all of his time to help actors, he comes in early and stays late for questions, catches up for a coffee to help with scripts and career questions, he'll help with self tapes and editing scripts, he'll check in with his actors and recommended me for a role that I ended up booking!

Peter's method has been invaluable to my acting process. The teaching involves relaxation, sensory work, character work and scene study. The sensory work he teaches is genius to creating a real world to have full belief in!

He is also part motivational speaker, he is hilarious and values daily and weekly time given to the craft, what you give in his class you get out. He has incredible knowledge on films, great writers and plays! Since the class is on going, actors have been there for 5-10 years!

Have been recommended these two masterclasses by two actors, they say it's a game changer, so excited to try them!

I reccomend it so much. A zoom call of actors from all around the world, a lot are in america, and then 2 agents going through your materials every week and making sure your package is ready for agents, looking at your self tapes, headshots, training, videos of your skills, helping you with literally everything, social media, what acting classes would suit you.
They bring in the American casting directors and some of the top LA acting coaches, for Q&A’s and they watch your self tapes and give you feedback.

Here’s the days and times it runs every week:
Thursday 11:30AM - 1:30PM (2h)
Friday 11:30AM or 12:30PM start depending on the coach to 1:30 or 2:30PM finish (3h)
Saturday 6:00AM - 9:00AM (3h)
These classes very often go 1h over time, sometimes up to 3h, when they’re really getting into helping everyone and answering questions, but you can leave whenever you need to. Wendy is so passionate and Sean is such a good coach they’ve helped so many actors so I couldn’t recommend it more.

ACCENT COACHING
All dialect coaches below were a recommendation, the coaches marked with an asterisk (*)
I have worked with, these teachers are all very kind and had a well-found of knowledge, so whichever suits you best! :)

Tony Alcantar *
[my ongoing dialect coach]

Price: $82.5
Duration: 1h
*if 4 pack is purchased

Tony's is originally from Chicago and is always on set working on film or television, his teaching comes from the 'Who Am I' of the character and he's not afraid to say when something isn't working, for example, in my Australian Accent I have a lot of up inflections, and each sentence sounds like a question. In Standard American, statements are statements, and questions are questions, sometimes questions even sound like statements. He gave me a scene playing a drill sergeant to work my habit and taught me how it comes from the 'who am I' - if I wasn't a sergeant, and I was someone fooling around, maybe I could have up-inflections, but I was in charge so he used that exercise to prove that I sounded like a child when I asked the soldiers to 'get back to work?' rather than telling them 'get back to work.'
