-Lucy is enthusiastic about her career in cryptozoology and TV though keeps it professional and quite low-key. She's well spoken, intelligent and humble about her successful show that she runs with Julian.
Little is known about her backstory except that she used to be close friends with Elise when they were kids. I'm not sure of any characters to compare her to but l'd be interested in seeing your take on it

you and Elise stopped seeing each other when Elise moved out to the countryside, possibly in her early teens. Lucy is mostly there to do the interview with Elise about the Phantom Cat while Elise is mostly just happy to see Lucy, so for her it's more of a personal thing. But they're still friends nonetheless, no bad tension.
In terms of Julian, he and Lucy are mostly just colleagues but they're loyal friends as well. Not necessarily flirting or relationship, though I'm open to including a hint of it if you think that suits the characters

DRAMA
Brenda is actually named Maria Brenda Hall. She is the ex girlfriend of Luke Parker (who is introduced in the pilot) but becomes a more frequent character as the show goes on, same as Brenda. Luke and Maria (Brenda) dated in high school and broke up due to long distance and Brenda becoming a bit too clingy. So Brenda because she can’t let go of the relationship decided to enrol at the same university without Luke knowing and basically she keeps and eye on him without him ever seeing her. He (and the audience) don’t discover this until the end of season 2! So that is basically her backstory! And her journey in season 1 is that she is also a singer / performer so auditions for the school production and becomes Gemma’s understudy! They’re basically nemesis and don’t like each other, are very competitive, jealous of each other ect.
